Sunset timeslice, Harghita, Romania.
The photo is a composite of 40 other photos that were taken during a timelapse. I took then 600 pictures that gave me a +/- 20 seconds clip. I then selected 40 pictures, 1 every 15 pictures actually, in order to cover the whole sunset. I cut 40 slices of the same width (1/40 the width of the final photo), 1 from each photo, and stitched everything together. I was very careful to keep the static elements like the trees frozen while the sky with the clouds and the grass change. I also put on each slice a small inner shadow on the right hand side, with a very low opacity, giving a small accent on the separation between the slices.
I really like how the clouds go from white to warm, then purple and dark, figuring all the colors of a sunset.
All the photos has been processed in Adobe Lightroom, the stitching has been done in Adobe Photoshop.
I will probably make a few articles on this timeslice technique, which is not very complicated but often gives some impressive results!
